The Master Gardener Extension Volunteers of Coweta County would like to thank The Newnan Times-Herald for helping make the April 8 Spring Plant Sale one of our most successful ever.
We also want to thank the many, many Coweta County residents who showed up early Saturday morning – many with cardboard boxes in hand – to stock up on our wonderful plants for their yards and gardens.
Thanks also go to the many MGEVs who spent hours on this project, from growing the plants to staffing the sale. It takes great leadership, organization, and many hands to help with all of the tasks involved in our spring and fall sales, our largest fundraisers. Major kudos to Co-Chairs: Randy Wade, Amy Keller and the Greenhouse Team, and, to Co-Chairs Dave Granroos, Denise Dasher and the Plant Sale Team.
Believe it or not, getting ready for our Fall Plant Sale began right after the sale this past Saturday. Now, the few plants that didn’t sell will be nurtured and cared for throughout the summer. Plus, we are already thinking about the plants we will grow for the Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.
Due to the wonderful support from the Coweta County residents, 4-H’ers have scholarships for camp, high school seniors will receive scholarships for college, and monies are available for Backyard Association speakers (free and open to the public), our projects with the Newnan/Coweta Boys & Girls Club, and advanced training for MGEVs.
Many thanks to all and keep gardening.
