Carrollton Sears Hometown Store not affected by company changes

The Sears Hometown Store in Carrollton will continue to operate as normal.

Sears Holdings Corporation recently announced news about its performance and store closings.

Sears Hometown locations operate under Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOS), which separated from Sears Holdings Corporation in October 2012 and is a completely separate, publicly traded company.

Local professional meat cutter participates in competition in Florida

Newnan resident and professional meat cutter Daniel Castro was among 110 professional meat cutters from Texas Roadhouse restaurants around the nation to compete in the semi-finals of the National Meat Cutting Competition last month in Orlando, Fla. The competition began with more than 450 meat cutters competing in local and regional rounds.

Hector Avila of Macon and Delfor Barrios of Marietta also competed in the competition.
