Local Publix employees volunteer for National Volunteer Month

More than 5,500 Publix associates across the company’s six operating states volunteered with over 150 local nonprofit organizations whose focus is primarily on the plight of the hungry and homeless on Tuesday, April 4.

Publix employees in Newnan volunteered with the local Salvation Army.

“Publix Serves celebrates our associates and embraces our communities. We’re excited to have more than 5,500 associates volunteering in the communities in which we live, serve and work,” said Maria Brous, director of media and community relations.

The company launched Publix Serves in 2015 as its community program that unites its associates in community service efforts.

Worby joins United Community Mortgage Services

United Community Mortgage Services recently added Heather Worby to its team in Newnan.

Worby will work with customers seeking a new mortgage. She will serve United customers in the Peachtree City and Newnan area.

“We are proud that Heather Worby has joined our United Community Mortgage team.” said Brad Murphey, United Community Bank regional president, Newnan. “Her experience in the mortgage industry will serve our customers well.”

Worby holds a bachelor of science in math education from Auburn University and has a decade of experience in the mortgage industry. Recognized as an "up and coming" loan originator early in her career, her focus is providing the best experience for each customer. 

Worby currently resides in Peachtree City with her husband Ben and their two children. Worby and her family love being part of their local community and are always looking for opportunities to get involved.
