I read with interest your editorial of March 1 stating your concern about the Democratic Party and the way it is currently headed. I am sure this is not genuine concern since in another editorial several weeks ago you felt it necessary to explain why your paper covers liberal news at all.
I realize that you have more conservative readers than progressive ones, but you should not have the quantify news coverage and viewpoints from both sides. I understand that Sound Off and letters to the editor are written by individual readers, but to have several editorials of this nature as the viewpoint of the paper is insulting.
I think you would be surprised at the number of liberals in Coweta County. Having been involved in several peaceful, positive rallies and events lately, it seems to me that number is growing. In fact, I have met several people participating who are conservative Republicans marching because they are concerned about the current administration and that danger it represents to our great country.
So, rather than be concerned that the Democratic Party is, in your words, “taking on destructive tactics and repelling sober, conscientious Americans,” you should appreciate that these individuals are giving their time to stand up for the rights of those being trampled by the leadership in Washington today as well as all Americans.
Your readers deserve a more balanced editorial page that shows respect to different points of view. Liberals aren’t the ones who declared the press the enemy of the people.
