South Paulding beats Northgate on diamond

Northgate Vikings baseball lost at home to South Paulding 12-2 Friday in a Region 5-AAAAAA contest.

South Paulding scored one run in the first and four in the second to take control of the game.

Northgate’s Patrick Pitzer hit a homer in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Vikings couldn’t generate too much offense against South Paulding.

The Vikings were outhit 15-3 in the contest, and scored their second run of the game in bottom of the fifth.

South Paulding pulled away in the contest with six runs in the top of the sixth and one in the seventh.

In addition to Pitzer’s home run, Connor Fortner and Parker Baxter each had a hit for the Vikings.

Northgate also lost to South Paulding on the road earlier this week. With Friday’s defeat, Northgate’s record falls to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in the region.
