Eleven former University of West Georgia football players put their skills on display for National Football League and other professional scouts at UWG Pro Day on Tuesday. There were 29 NFL teams in attendance as well as a few Canadian Football League teams.
The athletes began the day in the UWG Weight Room where they did the vertical jump, broad jump, and bench press.
Dylan Donahue, who was invited to the NFL Combine a few weeks ago, did only the bench press in the weight room, and did 31 reps to improve on performance at the Combine. On the field, Donahue improved his shuttle time to 4.19.
Marcus Sayles impressed in the weight room with a 40-in vertical jump, and an 11-foot broad jump. On the field, Sayles continued to impress as he clocked a 4.49 time in the 40-yard dash and impressed the scouts in drills.
Alex Amah who checked in at 6-0 and 244 pounds did 26 reps on the bench press and had a 34-inch vertical. Armah clocked a 4.68 time in the 40-yard dash and looked extremely smooth in drills, catching every pass thrown to him in the offensive position drills.
Another impressive performance was from Curtis Lindsay, who ran a 4.57 in the 40-yard dash.
These athletes will continue to train and work out as the spring continues, leading up to the NFL Draft on April 27-29 in Philadelphia.
