If you're gonna fire a gun, it needs to be aimed directly at a target that is a threat to you. There is no such thing as a warning shot. She didn't protect anyone from a fleeing group with a deliberately misplaced round. She actually put others at risk. All bullets have a destination.

On the matter of the customer with “deff guy” on his receipt: These are the same people that want $15 an hour?

The article, "Food Receipt leaves hurt feelings," (Jan. 4) is absurd. The cashier was simply using her head. Suppose she had gotten his name instead. The employee filling the order, (not the cashier), would have said, "Stacy, your order is ready." After several tries with no reply, the food would have gone in the trash. I have three close relatives who are deaf and not one of them is offended by being called deaf. The NTH should apologize to BK.

Thanks very much to the two gentlemen who stopped and changed my tire on Hwy. 29 Wednesday afternoon. You were a real blessing.
