Ga. Highway 85 was closed for almost two hours on Monday evening following a multi-car accident.

Just before 6 p.m., a Pontiac Bonneville was traveling north on Ga. Hwy. 85 near the Fayette County Line when it drifted into the southbound lane, sideswiping a Senoia Police car, and then hitting several other cars, according to Trooper Justin Hogan with the Georgia State Patrol.

Traffic on Ga. Hwy. 85 was closed during the height of rush hour while investigators worked the accident scene and attempted to clear the area, according to Hogan.

The driver of the Bonneville, a 17-year-old male, was taken by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, according to Hogan. His condition is unknown at this time. The other occupants of the vehicles all declined medical treatment, Hogan said. The accident scene was cleared by 7:30 p.m.

Alcohol or speed are not considered to be factors at this time, Hogan said. The accident is under investigation and charges are pending.
