Hobbs joins AgSouth as mortgage originator

AgSouth Farm Credit Secondary Mortgage Market Manager Deidre Nelson announced that Kevin Hobbs has joined the association as a mortgage originator for AgSouth Mortgages, the home lending division of AgSouth Farm Credit. Hobbs will be based in the company’s Greenville, Ga., office, and will assist homeowners in Coweta, Harris, Meriwether, Muscogee, Talbot, and Troup Counties.

Hobbs is a business graduate of Georgia Southern University and a former military intelligence operator for the United States Army. He is a recent graduate of Capstone Institute, where he became a mortgage specialist. A native of Coweta County, he says that he “only left the area to attend college and serve my country,” so he knows the area around Greenville well. He is currently an affiliate of the Newnan-Coweta Board of Realtors.

In a press release, Nelson says, “Kevin brings extensive knowledge of the area and a strong business acumen to his position. He will be a very important part of our team as we strive to grow our markets in Greenville and its surrounding counties.”

AgSouth Farm Credit provides loans for land, equipment and production agriculture; crop insurance; leasing; and home mortgages. The association serves 93 counties in South Carolina and Georgia and is headquartered in Statesboro, Ga.
