Sellers-Smith honored with business award

Sellers-Smith Funeral Home has been selected for the 2016 Best of Newnan Awards for Funeral Service.

The Newnan Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Newnan area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.

Sellers-Smith is located on Greenville Street in Newnan.

Easterlin joines MEAG Power as sr. vice president and CEO

The Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG Power), a cooperative that supplies Newnan Utilities, announced today that Edward E. Easterlin will join the organization and bring over 25 years of utility financial experience, as MEAG Power, continues to serve the wholesale power needs of 49 Participant communities throughout the state.

Easterlin has a master of business administration from Charleston Southern University and a bachelor of science in business administration from Baptist College at Charleston. He also attended Trident Technical College and earned associate degrees in nuclear and chemical engineering technology. He recently served as vice-chairman of the business and finance section for the American Public Power Association.
