Family and Friends Day will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at New Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville.

Alex Parks, pastor of Red Oak Gove Baptist Church in Gay, will be the guest speaker. “Dinner will be served after … this glorious occasion,” said Tywone Ferrell, pastor at New Mt. Bethel.

A Christmas Keyboard Extravaganza will be held Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Newnan.

Lee Chitwood, minister of music, said the service will feature “four grand pianos, 14 of our pianists, a carol singalong and the greatest sounds of Christmas.” The event is free.

Sargent Baptist Church will hold its Hanging of the Greens service on Sunday at 6 p.m.

“This service is a mixture of narration and music that emphasizes the different symbols of the Christmas season: the wreath, poinsettia, candles,” Brenda Clark said. After the service, fellowship – with cookies, coffee, hot cider and hot chocolate – is planned.

Thursday is the deadline to register for the 5K for Missions at Woolsey Baptist Church, 115 Hampton Road, Fayetteville.

The sixth annual 5K will be Dec. 10, with registration at 7:30 a.m. The 1k children’s run will be at 8:30 a.m., followed with the 5k at 9.

The cost by Dec. 9 is $25 for the 5k and $10 for the 1k. The day of the race, fees will be $35 for 5k and $15 for 1k. There is a maximum family fee –using a registration form mailed or delivered to the church – of $60.

“All proceeds support Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center,” Patti Phillips said.

Eric Hovind will be the guest speaker at the Worldview Weekend meetings at Northside Baptist Church, 3070 Highway 29, Newnan.

Eric Hovind, of Pensacola, Florida, is the president and CEO of Creation Today and has traveled the world speaking about creation versus evolution for the past 16 years. Topics will include evidence for a young earth and dinosaurs.

Sarah’s Daughters Ministry will present “The Divine Godhead: Equality of Women.”

The conference will be Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. and will include a free light brunch. Faith International Christian Center, 1294 Highway 34, will be the location, and Dr. Sarah Felix, pastor at Faith International, will speak.

A Concert of Praise and Thanksgiving was held on the afternoon of Nov. 13 at the Salvation Army Atlanta Temple Corps, 2090 North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta.

Participating were the Atlanta International Corps Songsters and String Quartet, the Atlanta Temple Band and Songsters and the Lawrenceville Band and Songsters. A buffet reception followed the festive service.

Change Church in Grantville held a free community Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 20.

Organizers hope to make the dinner an annual event.
