Butler receives Five Star Wealth Manager Award

Michael S. Butler, owner and financial advisor with Butler Capital Management, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. in Newnan, has been named a recipient of the 2016 Atlanta Five Star Wealth Manager award by Five Star Professional for the second consecutive year. Five Star Professional conducts market-specific research throughout the U.S. and Canada to identify reputable and trustworthy service professionals.

The award goes to less than seven percent of the wealth managers in the region based on research administered by Five Star Professional. To receive the 2016 Five Star Wealth Manager award, a wealth manager must meet 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria associated with providing quality services to clients including client retention rates, client assets administered, firm review and favorable regulatory and complaint history.

Rob Parker named Pinewood Forrest president

Pinewood Forrest, a mixed-use community located in Fayetteville recently announced international expert Rob Parker as its new president.

In his newly created role as president of Pinewood Forrest, Parker will oversee strategy, planning, financial management, development and ongoing operation of the groundbreaking live-create-play community adjacent to Pinewood Atlanta Studios.

Parker has over 30 years of experience in organizational leadership on a local, national and international level. Parker worked closely with Fortune 500 CEOs, philanthropists, sports and entertainment figures, foundation leaders and government officials in the U.S. and around the world. Parker previously served as CEO of Southern Ground, leading both the business and philanthropic efforts of three-time GRAMMY winning, multi-platinum artist, Zac Brown and Zac Brown Band. As part of that assignment he helped raise millions to build Camp Southern Ground. Prior to joining the Southern Ground family, Parker served as a CEO with Kiwanis International, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Newnan Pavilion to host trick-or-treat Monday

Newnan Pavilion will host trick-or-treating from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. The Home Depot will have treat stations throughout the store. Academy Sports and Five Below will offer treats at the door. Treats and free jump coupons will be offered at the entrance to Sky Zone, according to Pam Hightower, a Home Depot employee who helped organize the event.

Hightower said the companies hope to host the event annually.
