Makers Day is a new event on the calendar in Moreland, but it coincides with a longtime tradition each spring in the south Coweta town.

Makers Day will bring artisans with a wide range of skills and gifts to Moreland on Saturday. The event is sponsored by the Moreland Cultural Arts Alliance and the newly organized Artisans Heritage Guild.

MCAA promotes tourism and culture in Moreland. One of its projects is the God’s Little Acre demonstration garden, and the annual Blessing of the Crop will be held there on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Dentez Orr, who will turn 21 this summer, will be leading a responsive reading at the annual program. Orr is Coweta’s youngest preacher – pastoring Elim Baptist Church on Bud Davis Road.

Kandice Bell will provide special music, and there will be greetings from MCAA leaders and from Moreland Councilman Jeff Burgess.

God’s Little Acre is located on Railroad Street at the south end of Moreland. The garden is behind Moreland Surplus and Sales for those approaching from Highway 29 and the Grantville area.
