December 2015 Inspections (venues listed alphabetically)

American Deli- 44 Bullsboro Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 7 and scored a 96-A. The deduction derived from lack of covering and storing food properly.

American Deli- 1055 Bullsboro Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 15 and scored an 84-B. The deductions derived from no date marking, food in prep cold hold refrigerator not at proper temperature, refrigerator not holding 41 degrees.

Atlanta Fitness Express- 19 Millard Farmer Ind. Blvd. STE A Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 4 and scored a flawless 100-A.

Beez’s Eat’s- 395 Millard Farmer Rd. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 8 and scored a perfect 100-A.

Bodyplex Newnan, Inc- 60 Thomas Grace Annex Ln. Sharpsburg, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 17 and scored a perfect 100-A.

Boomer’s- 98 Jackson St. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 16 and scored a 92-A. The deductions derived from temperatures being slightly elevated on lift top cooler, open bags of flour and sugar stored on shelf, and lack of sanitizer test strips.

Brickhouse Tavern and Grill- 80 Newnan Station Dr. STE 301 Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 18 and scored a 93-A. The deductions derived from no sanitizer in warewashing machine, no quat coming through the three compartment sink , slicer and can opener had particle build up, and some coolers were missing thermometers.

Cafe Aloha, LLC- 775 Poplar Rd. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 28 and scored a 91- A. The deduction derived from meatballs temperature ranging from 109 to 133 degrees.

CAFI Child Care- 80 E Newnan Rd.- was inspected on Dec. 4 and scored a perfect 100-A.

Canongate Golf Club- Sequoia Golf LLC- 924 Shaw Rd. Sharpsburg, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 8 and scored a 95-A. The deductions derived from hot water sanitation did not reach proper temperature, damaged sheet rock in several areas, and inadequate lighting in walk-in cooler.

Carmike Cinemas #10- 87 Newnan Station Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 4 and scored a 95-A. The deductions derived from lack of having adequate handwashing facilities supplies and accessibility and single service articles improperly stored.

Checkers- 216 Bullsboro Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 17 and scored a 93-A. The deductions derived from handwashing sink not accessible for handwashing, front reach-in cooler has a broken gasket and door does not seal, and beef was thawing in three compartment sink instead of prep sink.

Christy’s Cafe- 30 Perry St. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 9 and scored a 95-A. The deductions derived from sliced ham, tuna salad, and roast beef not date marked, and split gasket on lift top cooler door.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store #212- 527 Bullsboro Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 9 and scored a 98-A. The deductions derived from wet stacked containers and ice build up on small cooler bottom.

Dairy Queen- 61 Jefferson Street Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 22 and scored a 96- A. The deductions derived from not properly date marking foods.

Grand Cafe LLC DBA Big Joe’s Bar & Grille- 1329 Bullsboro Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 28 and scored a 96- A. The deduction derived from outer drink nozzles containing film.

H J Wings & Things- 31 Market Square STE 101 Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 8 and scored a perfect 100-A.

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital- 2101 E Newnan Crossing Blvd- was inspected on Dec. 21 and received a perfect score of 100- A.

IHOP- 630 HWY 34 E Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 29 and scored a 96- A. The deduction derived from small buildup found on the can opener.

Jamaican Delight Caribbean Cuisine- 2235 E HWY 34 Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 8 and scored a 91-A. The deductions derived from employees eating in food prep area, no paper towels at handwashing sink, no dates on cooked foods inside reach-in cooler, and utensils stored in room temperature water.

Jekyll and Hyde’s Sports Bar- 10 The Boulevard STE 101 Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 29 and scored a 96- A. The deduction derived from product lacking date marks.

Lavender Meadows Inc.- 12 Savannah St. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 9 and scored a 95-A. The deductions derived from an open box of rice, pancake mix, and flour stored in cabinet, water and particles on refrigerator shelves, need paper towels at handwash sink in restrooms, need covered waste receptacle in ladies’ room, stained ceiling tiles in dry storage room, and some shelves in storage room are raw wood and need to be sealed.

McDonald’s #6621- 3190 HWY 34 E, Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 17 and scored an 89- B. The deductions derived from current inspection report not being posted, a box of single serve cups stored on floor and on chemical shelf, and improper cooking temperatures for hamburgers.

Neighborhood Corner Cafe- 12 Bonnell St. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 15 and received a score of 96- A. The deductions derived from medications being stored on shelf with food.

Newnan Health and Rehabilitation- 244 E Broad St. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 18 and scored a 97- A. The deductions derived from fish being thawed in vegetable sink and wiping cloths not stored in proper concentration of sanitizer.

O’Charley’s #283- 545 Bullsboro Dr. Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 29 and scored a 91- A. The deductions derived from the cold well for sauces was not maintaining 41 degrees; the scampi sauce was 49 degrees and alfredo sauce was 51 degrees.

Sprayberry’s Bar-B-Q #2- 1060 HWY 34 E Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 14 and scored a 97- A. The deductions derived from improper cooling methods being used and inadequate equipment for temperature control.

Town and Country Restaurant- 8 Franklin HWY Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 16 and scored a 95- A. The deductions derived from some food temperatures being slightly elevated in lift top cooler while others are not, need sanitizer test strips, stained ceiling tiles, employees purse was stored on crackers, and jacket stored in cabinet with food.

Wendy’s- 2840 E HWY 34 Sharpsburg, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 17 and scored a 99- A. The deductions derived from containers being wet stacked for drying and single serve cups stored with lip contact surfaces unprotected from possible contamination.

Wingyard Burgers and Wings- 114 Temple AVE UNIT C Newnan, Ga- was inspected on Dec. 15 and scored an 88- B. The deductions derived from chemical spray bottles stored hanging from rack with nozzles pointed toward onions, chemicals stored on shelf with single service lids, open bags of sugar, flour stored rolled down, current inspection report not posted, new owner has not applied for food service permit, single service utensils stored with handles in multiple directions, leak at hand wash sink drain pipe, no tissue in employee’s restroom, build up on hood filters, and mold on cooler gaskets.
